Project Details

It is difficult to imagine that this project started out as a 20+ year-old dilapidated pool with a broken concrete patio surrounding it.  After demolishing the concrete patio, a complete overhaul of the pool was required.  Once completed, we turned our attention to the oversized spa the clients’ desired.  From the very beginning, the clients’ priority was a modern, minimalist style featuring contrasting tones and textures of grey.  Building on this theme, we utilized a black hue of natural limestone as the pool coping to bring a bold minimalistic outline to the pool’s silhouette.  For the pool patio we selected oversized paver slabs with a smooth texture to keep true to the clean, crisp lines found throughout this project.  The intrigue of these paver slabs come from the variation of grey tones which creates the incredible effect you see throughout the surface area of this patio.  In order to play off the smooth clean surface texture of the patio, we went with a natural grey stone veneer for both the vertical walls of the spa as well as the fire pit.  The natural stone veneer already had a great contrast between its dark grey tones and white veining, but the shadow lines created by these irregular edges, is what truly made this texture stand out.  Playing off this contrast, we selected a massive single white slab of stone with grey and black veining for the top of the fire pit.  This fire pit becomes the perfect setting for conversations with family and friends to enjoy while relaxing poolside at this modern oasis.
