Project Details

In a project that featured multiple phases, the design and installation of the clients’ English garden quickly became a favorite.  Using existing hedges, and refurbishing existing arbors, we brought new life to an outdated space.  The client asked for a “formal cottage” look.  Despite being opposing design styles, we were able to capture the wildflower look of a cottage garden in a highly organized manner.  Using tumbled block edging and sod, we were able to delineate and organize the spaces, while we filled the beds with a multitude of flowering perennials and shrubs.  The stars of the show however, are the array of David Austin roses.  These roses will continue to flourish and provide never ending shades of pink blooms throughout the season.  Transitioning from the formal elegance of the rose garden, we step down into the predominantly perennial filled beds featuring masses of daylily, phlox, bellflower and again, more roses.  This landscape space is a perfect example of how even competing design styles can be fused to create breathtaking beauty in the landscape.
